
This course presents a specialized training aimed at the swift and successful investigation of reports involving missing and abducted children entitled Missing and Abducted Children - Response Initiatives and Awareness for: Call-takers, First Responders, Investigators, First-Line Supervisors, and Child Protection Professionals. This course is designed to provide critical information to those officers and investigators who will respond to a missing child report and whose knowledge, skill, and ability may make the difference between prompt recovery and a protracted investigation.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is the nation's resource center for child protection. It is the mission of the NCMEC to help prevent child abduction and sexual exploitation; help find missing children; and assist victims of child abduction and sexual exploitation, their families, and the professionals who serve them. This course includes high impact videos, case histories, investigative scenarios and group participation exercises.
CPOA is supplementing this curriculum with a three-hour segment covering specific California policy and law as well as providing attendees with a strong take-away list of resources.

CPOA will not register anyone for a class unless payment has been received in full. If you are not able to provide payment upfront you may provide a credit card to hold the seat. However, all students must be paid in full by 10 days prior to the class, if payment is not received at that point and a card has been given to hold the seat, it will be charged.
You will receive a confirmation via email after we receive your course registration and your payment is processed. Please review the confirmation carefully and check for any changes in course date or location. Tuition payment will also be reflected.
The California Peace Officers' Association (CPOA) seminars are not public seminars and are not open to the general public for enrollment. CPOA seminars are for training law enforcement personnel or those individuals who in some capacity represent law enforcement or public entities. CPOA reserves the right to restrict or deny enrollment or access to any CPOA seminar to any individual.
Payment MUST BE received at least 10 days prior to each class. No payments will be accepted onsite. We accept check or credit cards.
All cancellations are subject to a $15 administrative fee. There will be no refund for cancellations made 15 days or less prior to the start date of a course. To cancel or request a refund, you may fax the CPOA office at 916-263-6090 or email cpoa@cpoa.org detailing your request. Your agency will be billed in full for "no shows." Substitutions are encouraged.
