CPOA’s Legal Services Program (LSP) is designed to meet the varied legal needs of law enforcement supervisors and managers and covers pending action consultations, civil and administrative actions, pre-arraignment criminal defense and disability retirement appeals. LSP provides timely and reliable advice and legal representation from skilled attorneys with distinguished records representing law enforcement personnel. Best of all, members have a choice of coverage premiums and payment schedules to fit members’ individual requirements.
We have a variety of premiums to meet your needs. All premiums include a nonrefundable processing fee ($30) and can be paid annually, semi-annually, or monthly. Choose from one of the following categories:
$200 annual premium + $30 enrollment fee, $1,500 deductible per incident
$270 annual premium + $30 enrollment fee, $1,000 deductible per incident
$370 annual premium + $30 enrollment fee, $500 deductible per incident
$470 annual premium + $30 enrollment fee, No deductible per incident
- You must be a Regular member of the California Peace Officers’ Association to enroll in the Legal Services Program.
- Associate members are eligible to apply only if they are employed as civilian police personnel supervisors or managers by uniformed state or local law enforcement agencies.
- Applications can take up to 90 days to process.
- We are not accepting applications from line level personnel. Current members will be allowed to remain within the program until the Trustees approve all new changes and determine exit dates for existing officer-level members.
