Awards Program

The California Peace Officers' Association annually recognizes law enforcement professionals, and those who support the profession, through their highly coveted Awards Program.  Click here to review the actions of the 2011 Award recipients.

This program recognizes both outstanding accomplishments and dedication and leadership in law enforcement during the CPOA Annual Leadership Summit each year.

Agency heads are encouraged to submit nominations that recognize those individuals who deserve this level of recognition.  Accordingly, city managers are encouraged to nominate those agency heads whose long term dedication and accomplishments should also be recognized.

Nominations may be submitted year-round via the website link or mailed to the CPOA office.  Nominations should be for actions that have taken place during the calendar year preceding the presentation date (for example, if the upcoming program is taking place during the 2012 Leadership Summit, then the activity should have taken place between January and December 2011) and be submitted by February 15, the nomination deadline has been extended to February 29. (This is specific to the Award of Valor, specific acts within the Award of Distinction, and Award of Ethical Courage.  All other award categories reflect an ongoing activities that are recognized in their entirety.)
